Our Team
Keith DeGreen, J.D. CFP®
CEO and Portfolio Manager
In 2006 Keith DeGreen sold DeGreen Wealth Management, an investment advisory firm in Scottsdale, Arizona, with $640,000,000 of assets under management.
He promptly bought a boat, sailed across the Pacific, and flunked retirement.
He spent the next three years engaged in a world-wide research sabbatical — by plane! He met with government officials, business leaders, investment experts and ordinary people in countries throughout Asia, the Middle East, Europe, and Central and South America.
Using his own money, he developed and tested what is now DeGreen Capital Management’s MARKTORS® portfolio management program, and has pioneered world-wide market and sector investing through the growing universe of low-cost, U.S.-traded, exchange traded funds (ETFs). He remains DeGreen Capital Management’s first investor. Participating investors invest with Keith.
Keith is the author of The Emerging Markets Book, now in its second printing. Learn more about The Emerging Markets Book.
In January, 2010, Keith returned to host Arizona’s most popular personal finance show, on the state’s most popular radio station – NewsTalk 550, KFYI. Keith’s program is now in its 20th year on the station. You may hear the program live, 7-9 AM each Sunday, or you may enjoy recently archived editions of the program on this website. Listen to show archives.
Keith has been a Certified Financial Planner since 1987. He earned his law degree at The University of Cincinnati, School of Law approximately 100 years ago (or so it seems), after returning from Vietnam, where he received the Purple Heart and attained the rank of Sergeant with the United States Marines. A nearly 30-year Arizona resident, Keith was Arizona’s Republican candidate for U.S. Senate in 1988. He was a candidate for Governor in 2005 but withdrew due to a family illness.
In 2007, Keith, his wife, Lynn, and their two youngest sons, relocated to Keith’s boyhood hometown, Chagrin Falls, Ohio. The family continues to maintain a residence in Scottsdale.
Keith is the proud father of five children and three grandchildren. His children range in age from 40 to 13. Keith is obviously a financial, not a family, planner.
